Jaguin is one of the finest trackers on Valdier. To date, there is only one thing he has never been successful at finding – his true mate. That failure is eating away at him and his dragon. Even his symbiot is feeling the drain as the centuries crawl by with no end to the emptiness gnawing away at them. Hope flares with the discovery of a species that is compatible with their own. The Lords of Valdier have found their true mates on a distant planet bringing hope to the warriors of Valdier where females are few and true mates almost non-existent.

Jaguin is rewarded for his help in tracking one of the Lord’s stubborn females with the promise of a chance to find his own true mate on the planet called Earth. His search appears fruitless until the last mission before they are to leave.

Sara Wilson is a botanist working with the Columbiana University. Her love for plants and their potential for medicinal uses consume her life. She feels confident she is on the verge of a break-through when she is kidnapped by a cartel boss with only one thing on his mind – to extract revenge. A revenge that not only comes close to taking her life but will change it forever.

After a fruitless search for his mate, Jaguin’s accepts one last assignment to guard Lord Creon’s mate, Carmen, during a mission to seek justice against the man who brutally murdered her husband back on Earth. Instead, he finds his true mate in the man’s cruel clutches, barely clinging to life. His only thought is to spirit her away where he and his symbiot can heal her and his dragon can claim her.

The scars left during her captivity run deep inside Sara as she struggles to come to terms with her new life. She is no longer on Earth but the fear and terror still haunt her. She needs time to discover who she is again and whether this is a life she can accept.

Can Jaguin’s love heal the scars on the inside or will his true mate believe she has traded one monster for another?

Teaser/Excerpt:

Jaguin started forward, his gaze automatically moving to where the woman lay silently on the bed. He could see the thick bands of gold on her neck and wrists. His symbiot sat on the far side of the bed, its’ head resting on the pristine white sheets. Small threads of gold wove outward, replacing the narrow ribbons still moving over her body.

“It is a good thing you are her mate,” Tantor replied in a quiet voice, walking past the two beds toward the office area to the left.  “She would not have survived if not for your symbiot’s ability to heal her. Our medical advancements are far greater than most, but nothing can heal the body the way a symbiot can.”

“What of the other woman?” Gunner asked with a frown. “She is not mated.”

“She had a concussion, as well as other injuries,” Tantor admitted with a shake of his head. “I was able to heal most, but not even our symbiots can heal a broken mind or soul. The female was awake, but she never spoke or responded. It was as if only her body were here, nothing else. I only have the evidence of what was done to the females on a physical level and can guess what was done to them on a mental one. Time will tell if they will survive.”

“The one has to,” Jaguin retorted, glancing through the clear glass back at where his mate lay. “She… She is mine.”

Tantor’s gaze followed Jaguin’s to the peaceful face. “I know,” he murmured. “You will need to be patient, Jaguin, until she wakes, I can only guess at what damage may have been done to her mind.”

Jaguin’s gaze remained locked on the young woman’s face. He didn’t even know what to call her, just his mate. She looked like a pale statue. Her breathing so slight that he could barely see her chest rising and falling. His symbiot moved closer, nudging one slender arm. Hope and determination flared inside him when her arm slid over the golden head. He knew that it had been the movement of his symbiot that caused her arm to move, but not her fingers. Warmth flooded him when the woman’s fingers curled ever so slightly into the silky smooth body of his symbiot.

“I will wait however long it takes,” Jaguin replied, feeling the rightness of his words.

  17. Donald D Davis says:

Will the book be available in audio on its release date or will I have to wait for a while to get it on audible

    1. S.E. Smith says:

It is in production. It won’t be ready the day of release, but it will be sooner than Dagger! I’ll check with the narrator to see how he is doing and his expected finish date.

  18. Montgomerie says:

Is this book out yet? My grandmother and I have been waited fir a while for this book to come out….

    1. S.E. Smith says:

It’s coming! 🙂 The fans asked me to write Saber then Jaguin. I’ve started it. I have the weekend sort of to myself so I’m going to be writing like crazy!

  19. Nancy j says:

Still waiting. Have reread all books again except#9 because waiting for#8 in sequence. Please….Please . Love your Dragon’s

    1. S.E. Smith says:

You can read The Old Dragon of the Mountain’s Christmas without reading Jaguin’s Love. It will not interfere with the story line. The reason it is #9 is because it wasn’t necessarily a Dragonlings’ story, yet it goes with it as you will see them and the Dragon Lords in it.

  20. Nancy j says:

Still waiting on “8 in dragons series. Saw #9 but really want Jaquins story. Please…Please I always preorder your books. Love all your series. Is there a preorder on this book yet?

    1. S.E. Smith says:

Hi Nancy. Jaguin’s is coming. Pre-orders are very stressful for me so I made a deal with myself, I only do them when I know the book is finished. This way there is no chance of cutting a story short for the sake of a timeline. I promise to put up the pre-order as soon as possible. On a personal note, I made a deal with myself when I started writing that I would only do it as long as I enjoyed it. This is another reason why I don’t want to take any chances with messing with the characters by putting a deadline on them. I think because I really enjoy the stories is why they are so magical.

  21. Montgomerie says:

What is the name of the 9th book? And are you going to do a second book for Ha`ven`s Song?

    1. S.E. Smith says:

The 9th book is called The Old Dragon of the Mountain’s Christmas. Yes, The Dark Prince’s Prize is coming up on the short list of books to write! 🙂

  22. Heather says:

Do you have a release date yet?

    1. S.E. Smith says:

LOL. Not exactly yet! 🙂 I should know better in a week or so. I refuse to do a preorder until until the book is completely done. It saves on my sanity! 🙂

  23. monira says:

just want to let you know that i love love LOVE your books and i i am wondering is there gona be another twin dragon story in the series?

    1. S.E. Smith says:

Hi Monira! Thank you so much for your lovely post! Yes, there will be a story of the original Twin Dragons! It is impossible for me to not give them their HEA!

      1. monira says:

yay .i will try to wait patiently for that one .hope it’s soon 🙂

        1. S.E. Smith says:

          🙂

      2. Imee says:

Hello Susan, thanks for giving the original twin dragons their happy ever after, it broke my heart that they had to be killed because their dragon went mad and became uncontrollable and dangerous.
And can you also put an Asian as your heroine please? i am Asian and absolutely love you and your books, your giving me reason to keep on living.
God bless you please keep on writing xx
        Imee B

        1. S.E. Smith says:

I have an Asian heroine coming up in one of my stories. 🙂 Do you remember the two men that were on the moon with Trisha? Yep, they and their soon to be mate were in Paul’s story. I also plan on writing a story about the original twins. Aikaterina isn’t done with them yet!

  24. mlee says:

Is it out yet??? I think I’m going through withdrawal.

    1. S.E. Smith says:

LOL. I’ll get back to work!

  25. Clare reilly says:

Hi was just wondering if there will be a book about ha’vans brother and his mate I would love to read it I’ve got all your books to date

    1. S.E. Smith says:

Hi Clare! Thank you for your post! Yes, Adalard and Samara will have their story. It is The Dark Prince’s Prize and will be coming up sooner.

  26. Montgomerie says:

I love you books and I have a few questions….
    1) Are you going make a more books about Viper”s brothers?
    2) Are you going to make more prime books about any of the other characters.
    3) Are you going to make a book about the kid that wanted the twin dragon’s mate (book 8 I think).
If you can’t cone up with a plot line I can help. Like with Viper`s brothers, one of them could fine a human that was being held in a mining provision and then she escaped and no longer trust anyone but the 3 (or so) guys she escaped with.
Or with the Dragon one, the boy could meet a girl that owns a werecat and she rides it around. ( WHICH WOULD BE AWESOME).

Thanks for reading my questions and my ideas!!! <3

    1. S.E. Smith says:

I thought it better to answer in the order you posed your questions, so here goes! 🙂
      1. Yes, there will be more books in the Sarafin series with Heart of the Cat (Walkyr’s story next).
      2. Yes, Core’s Attack featuring Core and Avery will be out later this year.
      3. I’m not sure, if I do, it will be a novella. I do know that I will be writing a full lenght story on the original Twin Dragons and another for Aikaterina.
I love your ideas! Do you write Fan Fiction? I would love to see you write it up as a short story! I could post Fan Fiction stories on the website if others are interested as well. I am always coming up with different stories for characters that I read in other books. Let me know if you’d like to do it. Xoxox

  27. sam hayman says:

Egaerly awaiting this not to rush you. Are there going to be any more Alliance and M Dow books coming soon .

    1. S.E. Smith says:

LOL. Destin’s Hold will be coming out later this year. I’m not sure about the Marastin Dow. I need to finish some of the series I have before I work on it. I have a few more in the Dragon Lords, but plan quite a few for the Dragonlings as they will each have their own stories. I also have several other stories brewing… The squirrels are multiplying! I swear they are like the gremlins, wrecking havoc in my brain!

  28. Kayla says:

Hi, I was wondering when the audio versions of the Draginlings and the first Curizan book will be coming out? Also, do you think you can make a notice in your emails that go out to your readers when a pre-order is available? I try to look once in a while to see if one of your books will be coming out soon because if it is I will make a point not to start reading a new book ….. since I have been eagerly awaiting yours. The Dragon Lords Of Valdier, The Alliance and Curizan Warriors are my absolute favorite series.

    1. S.E. Smith says:

Hi Kayla. Thank you for your post!! <3 The narrators are currently working on Choosing Riley and River's Run. Paul will be working on Ha'ven's Song next and the other two Dragonlings books (and shorty that I'm going to include as a bonus). I'll make sure I let everyone know when I do a pre-order. I try not to do them unless the books are done. It is a LOT less stressful for me! I will be posting update of coming soon books shortly.

  29. some jerk says:

Been watching for this book for a long time now. Looks like you released book 9 without book 8, though that was more of a novella. Any chance you can offer an appetizer? You sort of introduced the topic during Paul’s book, and I would rather like to know how he get’s the damaged woman to surface.

    1. S.E. Smith says:

Hi Some! I’m writing on Jaguin’s Love. I’ve been working on two other series that took a touch longer than I was expecting. It was worth it, though! Jaguin and Sara have my full attention now.

  30. Montgomerie says:

I was wondering if you u are also going to make a book about Kor, or the head of security on the ship (forgot his name), of about the other 4(I think) people that helped track Trisha?

    1. Montgomerie says:

I am also wondering about what happens to the black syobiotis. He was not mentioned after Ariel’s book…..

      1. S.E. Smith says:

It was absorbed back into the other symbiots (after the negative energy was captured in the crystals).

    2. Montgomerie says:

      One more question XD..
Will you be writing a book about Pearl and her new mate?

      1. S.E. Smith says:

LOL. Yes! I was just talking to someone about that yesterday. I’ve rounded up the squirrels, captured the bats (which I totally forgot about and think they were letting the squirrels back out) and am focusing on getting some major writing done. Pearl and Asim’s story is on the list! 🙂

    3. S.E. Smith says:

Yes, but not sure when. Carmen and Creon’s visit on the beach toward the end of her book will spark the interest of someone! 🙂

  31. Montgomerie says:

You really learn to respect author more when you have to wait for a book. It talks longer to write then, then to read them

    1. S.E. Smith says:

It does. LOL. I know I’m behind. Life, other books, and did I mention life? Do get in the way. I promise I’m working on it. Thank you for being so patient. Xoxox

      1. Montgomerie says:

Don’t worry about. I know we will ALL love any book you release. Your an amazing author!! When ever I feel down, I always pick up one of your books. You are by far my favorite author

        1. S.E. Smith says:

Thank you so much for understanding! Hugs! <3 Now, back to writing!

  32. lesley ann says:

    1. S.E. Smith says:

There will be more! 🙂 Thank you so much! I hope you had a lovely holiday!

  33. Tai says:

Just finished reading Jaguin Love. It was wonderful. At times I caught myself crying or smiling as I read it. I have read all of this series but this book really touched me. I really want to compliment how you bring the characters to life.

    1. S.E. Smith says:

Hi Tai. Thank you so very much for sharing your feelings and your enjoyment of the stories with me. It really means a lot to know that they characters touched your heart the way they touched mine. Thank you again! Hugs!

  34. Jennifer says:

Hi! Just finished this book Jagiuns Love and loved the cliffhanger (well not really!) I loved the Twin Dragons story and am dying to read about the original twin dragons and their second chance. When will that be coming out????
    Thank you
(I love your books. I’ve been reading them over and over again!!)

    1. S.E. Smith says:

LOL. Thank you, Jennifer. It wasn’t meant as a cliff-hanger as Jaguin and Sara’s story was finished, but it did leave you wanting the next story. The original Twin Dragons will be out this next year. I’ve got a busy year of writing coming up! 🙂

  35. Tanya says:

Hi Susan!! While I was reading Paul’s pursuit(for the 4th time) u mentioned kor and palto’s mates and also terac and lodar’s.
I was thinking will u write a story about them????

    1. S.E. Smith says:

Hi Tanya. Thank you so much for your post. Yes, Kor, Palto, Terac and Lodar will all have their stories told. Some may be novellas while others may be full length. I never know until I start and the characters begin talking. LOL.
