I’ll post a way to get them. It is a little tricky, though one reader even had an Amazon rep help her! 🙂
The way around this is to have the American site as the only site used, I refuse to switch and lose the opportunity to purchase books which may not be available worldwide because of legal interference (no licences in other countries).
I contend that Amazon is “shafting” their authors, as surely an author has the right to sell their work to anyone wishing to buy, not be denied sales by lawyers.
Susan can comment, not sure she’d be pleased if only Americans could purchase her books.
This is from several other authors in the Kindle World. Cat Johnson has been very successful and this was recommended to her by Susan Stoker. One reader even sent me screen shots of her conversation with an Amazon rep who helped her do the following, though you don’t need it. This is the same if you are traveling overseas and they switch you (I had this happen in the UK while we were there). Below are the instructions. It is frustrating and I’ve heard through the grapevine that Amazon is working on expanded distribution of their Kindle Worlds to include worldwide. 🙂 Fingers-crossed!
For my international readers, if you have been frustrated that you haven’t been able to buy the books in my Magic, New Mexico Kindle World, I have a work around for you.
Kindle Worlds titles are only available from Amazon US site. Unfortunately, that means that readers using Amazon UK, CA, and AU are going to have to be a little creative and tenacious to get ahold of a copy. This is a method one of my author friends came up with, tested, and confirmed:
–Log into your Amazon UK, CA, or AU account.
–Add a United States address to your list of one-click addresses. You could try a hotel address or other business address you find online. The program is only concerned with confirming it is a legit address, not your address.
–Go to Manage Your Content & Devices, and under Country settings, change your location to US. Amazon will ask you to select an address. Select the US address you added to your one-click addresses.
–Now you can click on the Amazon US link, buy the book, and it will download onto your designated device.
–Once the book is downloaded, go back through the process changing everything back to your home country.

Congratulations must go to your friends for their lovely books which I greatly enjoyed. Well done everybody, just a shame that follow-up books won’t be coming (???) as the situations/characters were great and it was sad to leave them behind.
Incidentally, I took your advice the last time we corresponded and read Dust.
Good story, although it would have been nice to have had an introduction to this world chapter, as it didn’t really make sense – a comet hit the earth and (poof???) the world changed but it wasn’t explained.
Still, you’re the professional, I’m the (gentle reader as Isaac Asimov described us), so I’ll leave it to you, whilst looking forward to your future releases whenever they appear.
Then, we’ll all get frustrated again once those are read – laughs, a writers’ work is never done.

Thank you! I replied to your later post about the KW. I’ll be writing more in the Magic, New Mexico series and those will be available world-wide. Amazon is working on it. There will be more about what happened to the Earth as Dust and his new ‘family’ travel further west. At this point, they aren’t sure just how huge of a change has come to the planet, just what has affected them and what they’ve seen. As Paul Harvey would says; And now for the rest of the story.
