Twin Dragons Hits the New York Times Best Sellers list

NYTimes Best Sellers announcement framed

I am absolutely friggin’ thrilled to share that Twin Dragons has made the New York Times Best Seller list!

Probably like every writer, I have always dreamt of being on the New York Times and USA Today Best Sellers list. About 13 months ago, I set a very deliberate intention to do all I could to make the NYTimes list – but never at the sacrifice of the characters and the story. To be able to share my stories and have readers respond to them is my main goal. To make both the New York Times Best Sellers list and the USA Today Best Sellers list is simply icing on the cake!

Thank you everyone! WE did it together! We showed them that romance, especially Science Fiction Romance, rocks!

It was all of us together! Not just me, us! YOU all deserve a huge pat on the back and a chance to grin and say,” I was able to make a difference!” Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Excerpt

Melina Franklin was barely sixteen when she and her grandfather were kidnapped from their small farm in Georgia by an alien trader and sold to an Antrox mining asteroid in deep space. Mistaken for a young boy, she lives in fear of being found out and sold. Her only companionship for the next five years is her grandfather and the Pactors, a large creature used for hauling the mining ore, that she takes care of. She dreams of the day when she and her grandfather will somehow escape and return home to the rolling green hills of their farm.

Calo and Cree Aryeh have been secured as the personal guards for Creon Reykill’s mate, Carmen Walker. The twin brothers are a rare species of dragon known for their fierceness in battle. Born to the mystic dragon clan of the Northern Mountains, they have given their allegiance to the Dragon Lords vowing to serve and protect the royal family and their new true mates. The brothers know they will never be able to have a true mate of their own. Never in the history of their clan have twin dragons been able to find a mate capable of handling two male dragons. They can only hope that they die in battle so they are not destined to be caged when the loneliness eventually drives their dragons insane.

The twin dragons are confused when two humans are discovered on an abandon asteroid mine. The old man and his grandson appear normal enough but their dragons and their symbiots are driving them crazy, insisting the boy is their true mate. Neither know how to handle the other two parts of themselves or their need to remain close to the boy. On top of that, the young human male refuses to have anything to do with either of them. He hides and avoids them every time they get near him.

Things become clearer when they discover Mel is really Melina. Unfortunately, finding out their true mate is really a woman does little to change her feelings toward them. She is even more determined to return to her world.

When her wish comes true, the brothers know they have no choice but to kidnap her and hide her away. Can they convince her to give them a chance at happiness or will she seek protection from the royal family they have vowed to serve? If that is not bad enough, there is another who has his eye on their mate and will do whatever is necessary to keep her – including killing the twin dragons who have claimed her first.

Twin Dragons – Teaser #7

Here’s a teaser for Twin Dragons coming out September 16:

“You heard everything?” Cal asked as she pulled her feet up so that her heels rested on the edge of the chair. His eyes immediately went to the Teddy Bear she was cuddling. “Are you okay, honey? I worry about you.”

Melina smiled at her grandfather. “I heard everything. It is sort of funny when you think of the fact that I’ve been able to survive for four years without having to know how to ‘fight’. Still, it was sweet of them to ask you and to worry about me.”

“You’ve done a good job, especially when you have a shovel full of Pactor dung,” Cal reflected dryly.

Melina giggled and nodded. “Who needs a sword or blaster thingy when you can have a pile of poop?”

Twin Dragons – Teaser #6

Here’s a teaser for Twin Dragons coming out September 16:

The next day, Calo was standing outside the doors to the repair bay with his hands held out as if he was gripping something in between them. He wished he was, namely the human boy’s neck on the other side of the door. If the kid came at him with a shovel one more time he was going to throttle the kid.

“What is wrong?” Ha’ven asked, raising his eyebrow at Calo. “You look like you are ready to kill someone.”

“I am,” Calo growled.

“Let me guess, the youngling?” Ha’ven said, folding his arms across his chest. “If it helps, I don’t think you are in much danger from him.”
Calo threw Ha’ven a heated glance. “I know that,” he snapped before he released a deep sigh.

Ha’ven stepped back as Calo’s symbiot walked between them followed by Cree’s. Each of them were holding different items in their mouths. He tilted his head to the side to see what Cree’s symbiot had as it walked by them and into the repair bay.

“What is that?” Ha’ven asked when he couldn’t figure out what it was before the doors closed behind it.

Calo sighed again. “It is called a Teddy Bear,” he replied. “Cree had one replicated after talking to Carmen. She said that younglings like them and that even many adults have them. It is to give comfort. She said that many times they are given to those that have suffered a great trauma.”

“How can a piece of cloth cut into the shape of animal give comfort? It is not even alive,” Ha’ven asked with a frown.

“I don’t know,” Calo growl in a low voice. “Carmen understands humans. If she says it will help, then it is worth a try.”
