Teaser/Excerpt:

Inky darkness swallowed him as he rounded a natural pillar holding up the ceiling. Even his dragon rumbled with displeasure inside him, straining to see. It also didn’t like the narrow confines of the shaft.

Easy to trap, his dragon hissed.

Then keep your senses open so we don’t, he shot back.

You blow up entrance, we not be here, his dragon grumbled.

Creon gritted his teeth, counting slowly to ten before he responded to his dragon’s growing unrest.

There is no honor in burying the Sarafin prince alive, plus we need him—at least until we get the answers to my questions, he explained.

No honor in killing dragons or trying to take Hive, his dragon hotly shot back.

Rage sat heavy in his chest. He understood his dragon’s desire to just kill Vox d’Rojah and be done with it. He had felt the same for a very, very long time. A century of anger, grief, and regret had led him to this moment.

Things may not be what we think. You remember the dream, he snapped back.

You believe dream? his dragon scoffed. We see if true.

A century of blood spilled by Valdier, Sarafin, and Curizan alike—three races locked in a deadlock forged by power gifted by the Goddesses themselves. Balanced. Perfectly matched. Perfectly doomed.

His symbiot flowed beside him, massive and silent, its werecat form moving in seamless harmony with his stride. Liquid-gold muscle rippled beneath its skin; its eyes glowed faintly as it tasted the air.

Cat prince die soon, his dragon hissed with bristling pride. You are death.

Creon’s lips twitched despite himself.

Yes, he agreed silently. And I can still be killed—so stay alert.
