Rosita hurried toward the exit. She rushed through the double doors the moment they opened and turned left. If she had been looking up, she would have seen the broad-shouldered man before she ran into him. If she had, she probably would have run the other way.
Instead, she reached out to steady herself. Firm hands wrapped around her waist, almost spanning it. Her eyes lifted to his chest. Her fingers sank into a soft coating of brownish-blond hair and muscle—lots and lots of muscles.
Rosita’s gaze slowly traveled up the wall of muscle and along the valley revealed beneath his dark brown vest. Darker brown whiskers covered the sharp contour of his jaw. Her eyes widened when she had to tilt her head back to see his face.
Golden-brown eyes, twinkling with mischief, stared down at her. Rosita felt her lips part as the corridor tilted beneath her feet. It was as if she were standing outside her body, staring at the definitely alien male holding her. The low rumble vibrating under her palms was the last thing she was conscious of before her eyes rolled back in her head and she fainted.
