Pearl was flustered by the way the man was returning her gaze, as if she looked like she was part of the brunch buffet. True, she might have been doing a bit of eye-candy sampling, but when you find yourself on an alien world in your sixties, she figured she deserved to sample all the candy she wanted. Hell, at her age, she’d throw the whole damn cake in with it – in every flavor, along with the ice cream and whipped topping.
